Over development killing the City

Over development killing the City
From 1978 to 2008. Changing shoreline of Kota Kinabalu.

According to statistics, between 1976 and 1985 a total of 73,000 Filipino refugees were registered in Sabah.

Over the last few decades the narrow shoreline of Kota Kinabalu has changed. What KK was in the 1970s, is now almost unrecognizable to those who grew up close to it like me. The shoreline has changed over the last three decades with most of the city centre built on reclaimed land.
