La Triple Frontera
Triple Frontier
Argentina-Brazil-Paraguay
The Triple Frontier is junction of 3 countries Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil, where the Iguazú River and Paraná rivers meet.
Near the Triple Frontier are the cities of Ciudad del Este, Alto Paraná; Puerto Iguazú, Misiones and Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná. This area is near Iguazú Falls and the Itaipú hydroelectric plant.
This photograph is taken at Puerto Iguazu, Argentina on Saturday, March 26, 1994
The land on the upper right is Brazil, separated from Argentina by the Iguazu River.
The land on the upper left is Paraguay, separate from Argentina/Brazil by the Parana River.
The far distance background in the photo is Ciudad del Este City in Paraguay. The city where we were living at that time.
South America is filled with rivers, streams and lakes.
South America has three of the world’s ten largest rivers: the Amazon, Orinoco and Parana.
Second largest river, the Yangtze, belong to China is ten times smaller than the Amazon River.
Paraguay is a relatively unknown country.
The landscape is flat, with big rivers, plains, jungles and agriculture fields.
Located in the middle of South America, landlocked between Bolivia, Brazil and Argentina
It has an approximate area of 406 000 km2 and a population of 4 million (?) people.
Its most important cities are :
1) Asunción, the capital of the country,
2) Encarnación, that’s in the border with Posadas in Argentina, and
3) Ciudad del Este, in the border with Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil and Puerto Iguazú in Argentina.
Here are the famous Iguassu Falls, one of the 7 natural wonders of the world.

Iguazú Falls - World's 2nd largest waterfall
Iguazú Falls
6th March 1994 Sunday
In the morning we went to Brazil (Cataratas) to see the second biggest waterfall. We took few photographs there.
Iguazú Falls can be visited from 2 countries - Brazil and Argentina.
The Brazilian side of the falls has more crowded than the Argentinean side because Brazil side has only one path leading to the falls. Brazil side the views are more panoramic, but Argentinean side has more falls.
Visitor need to stick to the allotted areas and walkways.
