New Year Eve 1994

December 31, 93 (Friday) Last day of 1993. We bought 2 tins of Peach to visit Juan.  Juan was the young farmer we visited month ago. There is no special event to see Juan but that my interest to see his farm again. He and his mother live in a typical farm house in Paraguay and those of in South America.

Unfortunate I never took a photo of the farm for memory.

Juan, in return gave us also a chicken and pumpkin.

He expresses interest to borrow some money from me to start some sort of small sundry shop in his house. How I am beginning to learn a habit of the local ‘borrowing money’.

While back in Malaysia, borrowing money is not a good thing for one reputation, over here borrowing money is a way of life, a habit.  But Malaysian are not must batter, only that we have a more Intellecture word to beautify the habit. Instead of blandly say “Borrow money”, in the big city we use the words “Credit” and “Installment”.

Here it goes again, at night Jose came and borrowed 20,000 Guaranies and promised to pay on Tuesday.

For New Year Eve dinner
Jose bought carne va ca for barbeque.
Shirley cooked pancit and sticky rice.

The brother of Vanderley came together with the boyfriend of Vanderley to eat dinner with us. It's 12:00midnight  WELCOME TO THE YEAR 1994.
